editorial overview

S.W.A.T. has been celebrating all year long, but now it’s official: this is our 25th anniversary issue! And instead of “celebrating” by taking the month off and doing an issue full of reprints, we’re proud to present a brand-new expanded issue, 116 pages worth of what you’ve come to expect from S.W.A.T.

This issue is packed with six firearm/gear evaluations and six reports on training courses. Additionally there is an article on how to use Airsoft guns at home to increase your chances of survival in a deadly force encounter, and another on how to trap animals in a survival situation for food. How’s that for versatility?

In addition, bundled with the November issue is our first-ever S.W.A.T. calendar: 14 months to bring you through the rest of 2006 and all of 2007. Let people know where you stand by proudly displaying your S.W.A.T. calendar!

REALISTIC USE OF THE SCOPED RIFLE
Thunder Ranch Urban Precision Rifle
For the law enforcement officer or the military sniper working in an urban environment, the need to make quick, precise shots, from compacted distances, in unconventional positions, is often a critical necessity. Read all about this course, described by Thunder Ranch’s own Clint Smith as a fusion of his very popular Urban Rifle and Precision Rifle courses.
