editorial overview

One of our basic missions at S.W.A.T. is to rebuild the bridge between law enforcement and law abiding gun owners; a bridge that the anti-gun element has tried to burn down for years. With that in mind, it is our honor to feature one of America's oldest, most versatile and most respected law enforcement agencies–the United States Marshal Service-on the cover of this issue. Long before any of the alphabet soup agencies existed, U.S. Marshals were on the front lines bringing fugitives to justice; and they still are.

Also in this issue are six articles on weapons and accessories. As always, you can depend on S.W.A.T. for honest, factual reviews instead of flowery, gun-of-the-month-type articles.

As a special bonus for the May issue, we are proud to present the First Annual S.W.A.T. Buyer's Guide. At the recent S.H.O.T. Show in Las Vegas, the S.W.A.T. Staff scoured the hundreds of vendor booths to present this valuable resource guide. We're sure you'll find something, probably many things, of interest in it.
